Zhang Guoyong

Zhang Guoyong began his study in conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under the direction of the famous conductor, Prof. Huang Xiaotong. After graduation in 1983, he remained as a teacher there until 1993, when he was sponsored by the Chinese government a four years’ study at the Moscow State Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky, where he studied under the world famous conductor G. Rozhdestvensky. Zhang Guoyong is now the Professor and the Dean of Conducting Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Principle Conductor of Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, Vice Chairman of China Musicians Association. He has cooperated with many well-known orchestras including Russian State Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic, Ukrainian State Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Macau Symphonic Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra (Finland), Cannes Symphony Orchestra, Theatre Colon, etc. He is expert in Russian works, especially Shostakovich’s symphonies. Apart from the symphony orchestras , he also worked with opera houses both at home and abroad in numerous operas, such as Turandot, Rigoletto, Don Pasquale, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly, Il Trittico La Boheme; La Traviata, Carmen, Otello, Pearl Fisher, the Nose, ballets like Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote. Nutcrackers, symphonic choruses like Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, Mozart’s Requiem, Song of the Forest, Stabat Mater, Carmina Burana and so on. In 2006, he was invited to be the jury of the 8th Cadaques International Conducting Competition in Spain.

Lin Yousheng

Lin Yousheng was graduated from the conducting department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1983, under the direction of famous conductor Prof. Huang Xiaotong and is now the principal conductor of Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, guest professor of the Shanghai University, the East China University of Political Science and Law, Tongji University, Shantou University.

The orchestras he worked with include Saarlande State Opera Orchestra, Germany, Theater Nordhausen, Germany, China National Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, etc. He has conducted many world classic operas: Turandot, Cosi Fan Tutte,, La Belle Helene, Eugene Onegin, La Boheme, the Bat, Cavalleria Rusticana and some Chinese operas such as : the Savage Field, the King of Chu, and Sister Jiang. He also conducted some dancing drama like the Qin Dynasty and Giselle. His conducting engagements have taken him to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, etc.

During his career, Mr. Lin has received numbers of awards and honors in several arts festivals. In 2000, he won the prize of the best conductor in the 9th Rybnik International Festival, Poland. In 1992, he received the special allowances issued by the State Council. He was also once been entitled as the Shanghai Outstanding Educator of Art.

In 1995, his name was written into the International Who`s.

Zhang Chengjie

Zhang Chengjie, a distinguished young conductor and pianist who graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig in Germany with Master of Arts Degrees in both Piano and Conducting. He is the Principal Conductor with Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, visiting scholar with Shanghai Conservatory of Music at Department of Conducting, as well as Honorary Principal Conductor with Opera House of Gan Su Province. He is also an honorary member of Leipzig Association, member of Shanghai Youth Federation of Literary and Arts Circles, volunteered at the 2015 Shanghai Spring International Music Festival, winner of the 2nd MDR Sino-Germany Broadcasting Conductor Competition and was awarded "the Best Conductor" at China Northwest Music Festival. He received the Talented Young Conductor Scholarship sponsored by Committee of 100/C100 in the United States and Richard Wagner Foundation Scholarship for young artists, Academy Awards of Leipzig in 2009. He studied piano, composing and conducting under Erbo Deng, Weihao Qiang, Qiangbin Chen and Guoyong Zhang and was promoted directly to Shanghai Conservatory of Music for his outstanding talents. He was greatly recognized by Maestro Kurt Masur and became one of his last disciples.

He was the assistant conductor of John Nelson of Metropolitan Opera in the United States. He was employed by Oper Leipzig and worked closely with Maestro Riccardo Chailly while in Germany.

His first debut after returning to China was successfully conducting the original opera "The Song of the Swallow"- a tribute to the Opera Legend Professor Xiaoyan Zhou hosted by Shanghai Opera House. He was the guest conductor attending Maestro Daniel Oren's Italy Tour in 2014. He has worked with many famous artists and has conducted over 20 opera productions and many symphony and chamber concerts. In 2016, he was invited by World Master Orchestra to work as the assistant conductor of Maestro Christoph Eschenbach for the orchestra’s debut in China.

The Journal of Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig reported that “his talents in conducting represent the new image of the Chinese artists after the Reform".

  • Violin

Zhang Le

Zhang Le, won the first prize in the 1st National Violin Competition of China at age 13. When Dorothy Delay heard him play, she said: " All the world will hear your performance, you will be a great artist." Later, Zhang Le went on to win the violin Competition at the Aspen Music Festival, and immediately received a full scholarship from the Juilliad school of Music.

In Europe, Zhang Le is a prizewinner in the Queen Elizabeth International Competition in Belgium, the Menuhin Violin Competition in England, and the Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poland. He became the first violinist from China to join the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

As a Soloist, he frequently gives concerts throughout the world and plays solo Recital in more than thirty major cities in China. Zhang Le has recently released seven albums: <The Tchaikovsky violin Concerto> <Kreutzer 42 Studies><The joy is within ><The true self><metamorphose>< The Butterfly Romance> and <The Brahms Double Concerto for Violin &Cello>.

Zhang Le has been concertmaster of the following orchestras : the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra; the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and the National Opera House of China.   Since 2018, Zhang Le joined the Shanghai Opera House as concertmaster.

Chen Yangyuetong

Chen Yangyuetong, violinist, born in Nantong, Jiangsu Province in 1983. He started learning to play the violin at 4 years old in Children's Palace of Nantong, and began to study with Zhang Jingping, Professor of Nanjing University of the Arts, at 9 years old. He won the first prize in Youth Violin Competition of Jiangsu Province when he was 10.

From 1994, Chen studied with Zhang Shixiang for years, who is a well-known violinist of China and is also a professor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 1996, Chen was admitted to both Music Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Music Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music with honours. He chose to stay in Shanghai, and learnt from Professor Zhao Danqing and Professor Zhou Binyou of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. During winter and summer vacations, Chen went to Beijing to achieve enlightenments from Professor Lin Yaoji of Central Conservatory of Music, Who is a famous violin educator of China.

In 1996, Chen was admitted to both Music Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Music Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music with honours. He chose to stay in Shanghai, and learnt from Professor Zhao Danqing and Professor Zhou Binyou of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2002, at Chen's 19, he went to Sydney to continue studying with Professor Zhang Shixiang. He received an award the next year in Hobart Violin Competition. During his time in Australia, Chen worked for Sydney Symphony Orchestra for 2 years as a part-time performer. After that, in 2005, he went to USA for further training on invitation by the violinist Charles Avsharian. Chen learnt from him and the master violinist Ruggiero Ricci. During his stay in America, Chen attended 3 Schools one by another. They are the Meadowmount School of Music, founded by Ivan Galamian, Northwestern University Bienen School of Music in Chicago, and University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. During 2006-2007, he was the assistant concertmaster of Northwestern University Orchestra in Chicago.

Chen made the acquaintance of 'Meadowmount Trio' by chance, the well-known string quartet in USA. They participated many rehearsals together, from which Chen had learnt plenty of chamber music works and had gathered much experience in playing chamber music. Cellist Hans Jorgen Jensen, pianist Eric Larsen and violist Patricia McCartney had enlightened Chen a lot.

Chen had cooperated with many orchestras as an outstanding young violinist, like Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra and Northwestern University Orchestra, and also had many solo performances. In 2007, Chen came back to China, joint Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra as an introduced talent of Shanghai and acted as the concertmaster from that time to this day.

During these years, Chen had cooperated with plenty of famous orchestras in China, like Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, Guangxi Province Symphony Orchestra, Zhejiang Province Symphony Orchestra, Gansu Province Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, having performed many concertos like Brahms, Sibelius and Tchekovsky.

Chen had visited many countries like USA, Australia, Canada, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Spain, France, Japan and North Korea. In 2010, Chen and Ms. Midori, the international well-known violinist, were interviewed together while recording a program. In 2011, entrusted by Professor Zhang Shixiang, Chen became the general agent of Shanghai area of Zhang Shixiang Multimedia Violin School. In 2012, Chen performed 'Charles Camille Saint-Saens Concerto in B Minor' with Qingdao Symphony Orchestra successfully, conducted by the famous conductor Lior Shambadal. In 2015, Chen was invited to take the guest concertmaster of Gansu Province Symphony Orchestra as a part-time job.

  • Piano

Song Siheng

Pianist Siheng Song was born in Shanghai, China in 1981 and is widely regarded as one of the top pianists of his generation.

In 2002, study abroad in France in the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Prof. Marian Rybicki. After receiving his Diploma of Concert Pianist, he went on to study with Olivier Gardon in the Conservatory of Paris, and is currently studying privately with Dominique Merlet.

After moving to Paris,Siheng began collecting many definitive prizes, such as first prizes in the Pontoise Piano Campus Concours, Morocco International Piano Concours, Viseu International Competition in Portugal, Grand Prix Animato International Concours.He was also a prizewinner at the Leeds,Dublin,and most importantly, the Grand Prize at the 2004 Long Thibaud Piano Concours, making him the first Chinese to win this prestige competition.

Since his victory in Paris, Siheng Song has toured extensively worldwide,Tokyo,Soeul,Beijing,Shanghai,Paris,Berlin,London,NY and so on...His many festival engagements include festival de la Roque d'Antheron in France,Ruhr Festival in Germany,Beethoven Festival in Bonn,Chopin festival in Duszniki in Poland and so on.He has played with many orchestras outstanding such as Orchestra de Paris,Orchestra Philharmonic de Radio France,Orchestra Nationale de France,Orchestra Nationale de Lille,Orchestra Phiharmonic de Monte-Carlo,NRD Symphony Orchestra,Halle Orchestra of England,Chamber Orchestra of Vienna,Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse,New Japan Philharmonic,China Philharmonic,Hongkong Philharmonic.Recently,he recorded several CDs for Radio France,DG to high acclaim. His first solo CD was released in April under the Passavant label. Despite his young age,Siheng Song has been invited to judge at various competitions,including the Morocco International Piano Competition,the Grand Prix Animato,and the Grandes Amateurs International Piano Competition in Paris.He is also the youngest staying artist of Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Since 2010,he started to creat new style of the piano concert with the multimedia technology,《Nodame Cantabile》,《Chopin Love》,《In search of Haruki Kurakami》and 《Reading Pakin》,《Blue》,5 different multimedia concerts with different conceptions under his studio’s production, crossover with theatre,pictures,literature,not only to change the style of the piano concert,also give new ideas of the classicle music could be in the 21th. Centry.
